Hi there! So I realized that I never put any of my sketches or progress work on the blog so here's one! This is how I usually start with an illustration sketch semi-cleaned up I was feeling very festive with the holidays so here you go :D.

HEAVEN

So! this is my definition of heaven, a place where you can eat everything! Done in Illustrator.

Bloody Bride

I'm taking a Illustrator class and I must say I really like the program :D. Originally this was a model holding a perfume bottle but now she's a crazy bride! Since Halloween just passed I thought this would go well for the occasion. Done in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Color!

So! I was experimenting with Cel vinyl for different textures and this is what came out :D.

So! Here is some line work of a temple layout I did. I didn't really do a value study on this because I've been talking to background artists at my internship and they suggested to do more line work instead of spending a few hours making the drawing look pretty.

BBQ!

So! my boyfriend and I did a small BBQ back in Tj and I decided to do a little doodle for the invitation. My boyfriend added the right side with the veggies and sign :D.

PS: That´s me and my BF drooling over the food :B

Oooops! I forgot to update last week :B, but here's a tone study of this simple shot. Three point perspective is my fave so I was playing with it.

Plantas Carnivoras

Prismacolor render over Vellum paper. I just really wanted to work with organic shapes; I'm more of an architectural person when it comes to backgrounds that's why I'm trying on organic drawings :3.

Prismacolor sombreado en papel Vellum. Ahora estoy tratando con cosas organicas. Uso mas las formas geometricas para los escenarios por eso quiero practicar lo no geometrico. Gracias por ver!

Textures!!!

Update!, One of the most important skills a background painter needs to have is to be able to replicate textures. And after playing with them, I must say textures can be quite challenging. Nevertheless, textures can be a place where you can have lots of fun when you're trying all different kinds of tools. Mediums: left :watercolor, right :cel-vinil, cartoon colour.

Una parte muy importante para los pintores de escenarios es el poder re-crear texturas. Despues de hacer estos ejercicios debo de decir que las texturas pueden ser muy divertidas pero tambien pueden ser un gran reto! Materiales: Izq: Acuarela, Drch: Acrilicos de vinil, Cartoon Colour.

Well, here's the colored version of the layout I did in my perspective class. With this illustration I wanted to go more for a flat look instead of shadows and volumes. I'm quite happy with the results. Medium: Painter X

Oh my! I haven't uploaded anything in ages and that's not good! Here's a 3-point layout I did a while ago and which a recently reworked some parts. With it, are some shots of how the project evolved from just one structure to a town.

I did this background in my Special Studies for Illustration class. I will be working on a short animation this spring and this is one of the backgrounds I will be using, finished piece and layout just like my previous classroom. I used watercolor and then glazed it over in Painter X.

After much deliberation on which image to post first, I have given up and decided to start with this classroom done with watercolors plus the layout . My dream is to one day work in the animation industry as a background artist, hopefully you'll like my work enough to stop by some other time :D.

Bueno, aqui esta mi primer post, como pueden ver es un salon de clases usando acuarelas, ademas tengo el arte lineal. Espero algun dia trabajar en la industria de animacion como una artista de escenarios.
